Becky Earley

Becky has been a practicing fashion textile designer for ten years, and is widely known for the development of her Heat Photogram print technique and for the use of innovative and unusual imagery. She has produced womenswear for over 25 outlets worldwide, including Liberty and Harvey Nichols in London, and Barneys in New York and Tokyo. The Victoria and Albert Museum and the Crafts Council in London have added her printed fabrics to their permanent collections, and her work is widely cited and illustrated in books and publications about recent textile innovations. She has been a visiting lecturer at Chelsea College of Art and Design since 1996 on the BA Textiles course and the MA Design for the Environment course. In 2002 she became a Research Fellow for the Textiles Environment Design (TED) project at Chelsea. The main focus of her research to date is the reuse and recycling of materials and garments, and the reduction of chemicals and waste in small production runs.
